FALMOUTH RIBEYE TRAINING COURSES
We offer a free RYA Powerboat Level 2 course for up to 3 people with every Ribeye boat sold.
The school is an RYA recognised teaching and training centre and provides a full range of Powerboat, Motor Cruising and Shorebased courses.
We offer a range of courses and our instructors are all RYA Yachtmaster and Powerboat qualified, each with many years of experience skippering all types of craft.
Our specialist training team can offer comprehensive courses for all types of conditions as well as tailored packages to suit specific requirements.
RYA POWERBOAT COURSES
POWERBOAT - LEVEL 1
Provides a practical introduction to boat handling skills.
1 DAY RYA COURSE £115
POWERBOAT - LEVEL 2
Provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the ‘International Certificate of Competence”.
2 DAY RYA COURSE £195
POWERBOAT - INTERMEDIATE
Covers practical use of pilotage and passage planning by day on coastal waters, using both traditional and electronic navigational techniques.

ADVANCED COURSE
Provides the skills and background knowledge needed by powerboat drivers operating by day or night in known or unfamiliar waters. It will teach boat handling for more demanding conditions.

SAFETY BOAT
Provides the skills required when acting as an escort craft, safety boat or coach boat for a fleet of dinghys, windsurfers or canoes and for racing or training activities.

RYA MOTOR BOAT COURSES
HELMSMAN
The Helmsman motor course is an introduction to motor boating and includes boating safety, helmsmanship, boat handling and an introduction to engine maintenance. Run over 2 days, the aim of the course is to teach boat handling and safety in a defined area.

DAY SKIPPER PRACTICAL
The Day Skipper course is taught on board a Sealine 42 Statesman motor cruiser and aims to teach pilotage, navigation, seamanship and boat handling in tidal waters.
4 DAY RYA COURSE £675
COASTAL SKIPPER PRACTICAL
The Coastal Skipper course is aimed at teaching the skills and techniques which are required to skipper a motor cruiser on coastal and offshore passages.

COASTAL SKIPPER/YACHTMASTER
This course is aimed at preparing you for an RYA/MCA exam. It covers all aspects of skippering a motor vessel up to 24 metres in length including pilotage, boat handling, navigation and meteorology.
4 DAY RYA COURSE £750
The course runs from 9.00am Monday for 4 days of preparation with the examination on the Thursday.
We provide a victualled vessel, pay all mooring fees and organise an examiner. Normally run with up to 4 students on a 42’ twin screw boat.
